Laser Tag is coming to the Sunbury Youth and Community Center during the week of July 8 to 13, 2013. For $5.00 you can enjoy a 20 minute game of laser tag against 15 of your friends and strangers while supporting the Sunbury Celebration. Or you can purchase a card of 5 games for $20.00. The hours will be Monday thru Friday 12 noon to 7 pm Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm. If you are interested in having a private party for up to 16 guests, the cost is $200.00. Swim Lessons, Guard Start, and Lifeguard Training
The City of Sunbury will once again be hosting 2 sessions of Learn to Swim Lessons at the Sunbury Youth and Community Pool Memorial Drive Sunbury, PA. The first set of classes will begin Monday, June 24, 2013 to Friday, July 5, 2013. There will be class on July 4th. The second set of classes will be Monday, July 8, 2013 to Friday, July 19, 2013. The classes are held Monday through Friday. The Level 1 to 6 classes are broken down into 3 sessions: 9:00 am to 9:45 am; 10:00 am to 10:45 am and 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
We are also offering preschool Learn to Swim during this time. Preschool students must be at least 3 years old and potty trained. Class size is limited to the first 10 preschool students. These classes begin at 9:15 am to 9:45 am; 10:15 am to 10:45 am; 11:15 am to 11:45 am during the first and second session. As of May 20th, the 10:15 preschool classes for both sessions are filled.
The cost for students in the Shikellamy School District is $20.00 if you pre register. If you register the first day of lesson, the cost is $25.00. For those outside of the Shikellamy School District, the cost is $30.00 for pre registration and $35 if you register the first day of lessons.

The City of Sunbury is also hosting Life Guard Training. This training will be held at June 10 to June 28, 2013. The Water Skill Training will be held on June 10, 2013 to June 21, 2013 at Mt View Bible Camp in Snydertown, PA from 9 am to 12 noon. The Land Skill Training (first aid and CPR training) will be held June 24, 2013 to June 28, 2013 at the Sunbury Youth and Community Pool, Memorial Drive, Sunbury, PA with the time to be announced. The cost is $100 includes the training, mask and book.
Must be 15 years old by the completion of the course.

The City of Sunbury is also hosting Guard Start training. Guard Start is a program that provides a foundation of aquatic and leadership knowledge attitudes and skills preparing youth for future and successful completion of Lifeguard Training.
PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 12 YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE COMPLETED LEVEL 5 OF WATER SAFETY/SWIM LESSON

9 am until 11 am

Bloomsburg, PA, March 20, 2013: Greater Susquehanna KIZ and REDC will provide business services and based on eligibility, some companies will also be eligible for grant programs or micro-loan programs. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at 218 Chestnut Street , Sunbury , PA on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 5:00 PM, doors open at 4:00 PM and will remain open for visitors until 7:00 PM. The Ribbon Cutting will be provided in conjunction with the Central PA Chamber of Commerce; Senator John Gordner and State Representative Lynda Schlegel-Culver will be in attendance.
Lease space will be available in April 2013 for occupancy for start-up businesses, entrepreneurs and inventors to begin or grow their business ventures. This is a low-cost incubator providing business with a professional atmosphere in which to begin and grow a new business idea. The location is in walking distance of the downtown Sunbury area. Businesses may receive free and reduced cost business consulting services; have access to research and development resources; opportunity to work with college students; assistance with sales and marketing and educational and training services.
The GSKIZ has been working with the Seiple Family Foundation, Central PA Chamber of Commerce, Bloomsburg, Bucknell and Susquehanna Universities ; Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Geisinger Health Systems, the Sunbury Revitalization Inc. and Mayor David Persing to bring the new incubator to Sunbury , PA. Current GSKIZ and REDC companies will be on hand to showcase their products and/or services as well as discuss with attendees how the GSKIZ/REDC organizations have assisted with their business development and growth. Some of the companies that will be in attendance (all at varying levels of development) are Columbia County Bread and Granola; Contrast Communications; Dirty Boy Industries; Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC; Systematic Filing Products; Touche EDI; viaEd Technologies; and World of Wood.
